Mornings can be tough, I get it. As much as I wanna be this bright eyed person that doesn’t hit snooze 4 times, I’m just not. I don’t plan to make ample time for my breakfast because I love my sleep. Sleep is really good for us too, ya know?
Since I opt for sleep rather than extra time in the AM, I do make sure I have quick options ready for when I’m heading out of my door. One of my favorite easy and quick things are green smoothies. They’re not rocket science and can be packed with tons of nutrients to start your day off.
Here is my favorite:
- 1 small banana
- 2-3 handfuls of power greens mix (spinach, baby kale, chard, arugula)
- 1 tbsp raw almond butter (or pb, sometimes I use white chocolate wonderful pb)
- chia seeds
- almond milk (or any dairy free milk of choice)
Take all the ingredients and blend together.
It takes no more than 5 minutes and you’re set.
I often change up the ingredients depending on what I have on hand, but this is the usual green smoothie I make with all the staples.
